GCSE Exam Centre

At Riverway, we believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed in their exams in a setting that understands and supports their unique needs. As a SEND-focused open exam centre for functional skills and GCSE, we provide a calm, supportive environment where young people can access assessments with the right adjustments in place.

SEND Focused

Calm, Supportive Exam Settings for SEND Students. We create a comfortable, nurturing space where every learner can take exams confidently, with the adjustments they need to succeed.

Our specialist team are experienced in working with learners who may find traditional exam settings overwhelming. We follow the JCQ Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments policy to ensure that every candidate has fair and appropriate access to their exams, whether through extra time, a reader, a scribe, or other support tailored to their needs.

Adjustments for Students

Designed to support students with disabilities or other circumstances that may affect their ability to participate in assessments on the same basis as their peers.

Riverway can provide assessments and reports to support the evidence required for Access Arrangements, in line with Section 7.3 of the JCQ Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA) policy. Assessments are conducted by a specialist assessor who is appropriately qualified to administer educationally focused psychometric testing in the areas of reading skills (7.5.10), writing skills (7.5.11), and cognitive processing (7.5.12) – the key domains commonly used to evidence the need for reasonable adjustments.
