  • Cycling
  • Climbing
  • Snowboarding
  • Abseiling
  • Sailing
  • Powerboating
  • Archery
  • Exercise
  • Gym
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Cinema visits

All young people at New Forest Care have the opportunity to go on a holiday each year. There are choices for camping abroad, a trip to the seaside or to go on an activity holiday or visit a holiday camp.

At New Forest School we use outdoor pursuits to help promote learning outside the normal classroom environment. Students are able to access a wide variety of activities and qualifications. Activities available are listed below:

Rock Climbing, Abseiling, High Ropes, Skiing, Snowboarding, Archery, Air Rifle Shooting, Mountain Biking, Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking, Power Boating, Teambuilding, Problem Solving and Bush Craft skills.

Using these activities in a safe, fun and educational way, encourages students to improve their communication, interaction and social skills; along with developing an interest in recreational sports.

Nationally recognised certification can be achieved for most of the activities on offer, including RYA (National Sailing Scheme, Power Boating, Windsurfing) NICAS, BCU Kayacking etc, and will also link into the Schools Physical Education programmes and GCSE’s.

These opportunities help our students to explore and develop self-discovery, self-esteem, experienced based learning. These skills and experiences are transferable to other subjects, helping students to realise what can be achieved.
