Just a reminder that students are back on TUESDAY 3rd November - can't wait to see everyone🥰
Today our students were invited to learn CPR with Isle of Wight NHS Trust at Sandown fire station. They did brilliantly!So incredibly proud of our new students for the determination and resilience they have shown this half term. And just as proud of our returning students for the kindness and welcome they have extended. Our students really are amazing ❤️ Hoping everyone has a great time off and returns to school rested and ready for more fun🤩
We had such a great morning at GRAFT studios IOW today, hearing more about the UK Town of Culture project and giving our own opinions. We loved creating the artwork to represent our thoughts, as well as sharing our wishes. Joel’s work was really inspiring and we had so many great questions for him ❤️. Thanks so much Emma and Joel for your time
Really impressed with the attitude of our Year 9s and 10s today at the Careers Fair. It can be quite hard to think about next steps, but it was really lovely to see them engage with so many different people and potential avenues for the future.
So impressed with Year 8 and their finished lino printing. This was not an easy project and they showed great determination and resilience, with careful cutting and patience from start to finish ❤️
We have been so busy in school this week - Both sites participated in the Guinness World Record attempt for most people reading at once, Newport site researched the Japanese art of kinusaiga and then had a go themselves, and Sandown site baked cookies and made coasters 😍
This week we had a fun and informative visit from the recycling team at IW council, which we followed up with recycling crisp packets into keyrings 😍We have also been enjoying our time at Rare Breeds this half term. 🐇
Not to be left behind….. our Year 10 students used skills from their ‘Introduction to DT’ workshop to design and make a helicopter, using workshop machinery.
Our Year 7 students are settling into Forest Edge life really well - and learning lots of new skills along the way. The monster figures they made in Design/ Technology this week are so cute!!! 🥰
