Curriculum Intent
Our mathematics curriculum is designed to be engaging, accessible, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of our learners. We recognise that many of our students have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education, and we aim to rebuild their confidence and foster a positive attitude towards mathematics.

Boosting Confidence
We provide supportive, hands-on learning experiences that celebrate progress and help students boost their confidence and enjoyment of mathematics.
The Five Key Learning Objectives are:
LO1: I Can Understand and Use Numbers
I can recognise, read, and understand numbers. I can count forwards and backwards, understand place value, and compare and order numbers to help me make sense of the number system.
LO2: I Can Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide
I can use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to solve problems. I can choose the right method, work things out in my head or on paper, and check that my answers make sense.
LO3: I Can Use Fractions, Decimals and Percentages
I can find, name, and use fractions and decimals in practical situations. I can understand how they link together, compare different amounts, and solve everyday problems using percentages.
LO4: I Can Measure, Compare and Use Geometry
I can measure and compare size, weight, capacity, and time. I can name and describe shapes, use position and direction, and understand angles and units of measurement in real-life contexts.
LO5: I Can Collect, Organise and Use Data
I can collect and sort information, and show it using charts, tables, and graphs. I can use what I find out to answer questions, make comparisons, and explain what the data shows.
