Our curriculum is based on engagement through project-based learning and individual interests which as each student develops and positively engage in more defined subject lessons, such as English and Maths.
This is supported by various methods of baseline assessment and background information from previous settings and external professionals, to ensure success. The assessments will determine how secure each student is in their foundation knowledge and at what level they will study at e.g. Functional skills, GCSEs, Open Awards regulated vocational awards and AQA unit awards.
Our Pathways
Each of our pathways is underpinned by a flexible curriculum that responds to the individual needs of our learners while carefully monitoring their progress. This ensures that every young person can access learning in a way that is appropriate to their stage of development and supports them in working towards their personal, social, and academic goals. Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural development (SMSC), along with PSHE, is embedded across all sessions, ensuring students grow in confidence, resilience, and social awareness alongside their academic learning.

Discovery Pathway
The Discovery Pathway is designed to develop communication and problem-solving skills through an engaging approach to core subjects, including English and Mathematics. Learning is frequently embedded within activities or areas of personal interest, with the intention of gradually supporting students to transition into more formal lessons as their confidence and skills increase.
Innovation Pathway
The Innovation Pathway utilises the interests and ideas of students to inform and shape their learning. Delivery is centred around creative, practical projects such as carpentry, art, and other hands-on activities. This approach enables students to acquire new skills, build self-confidence, and recognise the relevance of their learning in real-world contexts.
Creation Pathway
The Creation Pathway incorporates the cross-curricular aspects of cooking to support the development of a wide range of skills. Sessions are designed not only to build practical life skills, but also to embed core areas such as English and Mathematics within meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. This pathway enables students to apply knowledge in real-life contexts while fostering independence and confidence.
Exploration Pathway
The Exploration Pathway utilises outdoor learning as a vehicle to deliver the PSHE curriculum. Through activities in natural and community settings, students are supported to develop personal, social, and emotional skills in a practical and engaging way. This approach encourages resilience, teamwork, and a greater sense of wellbeing while embedding the values and knowledge required for personal development.
